My name is Andy Yates. I'm a fully qualified primary school teacher with a Batchelor of Education degree, from the University of Greenwich.
I've been teaching in the Medway area for 4 years and have been tutoring in Gravesham for the last 9. I now tutor full-time in the Gravesend area.
After leaving school I worked in engineering and retail, then decided to re-train as a teacher.
Prior to becoming a teacher I was a voluntary classroom assistant in a local infant school and gained a certificate in higher education as a specialist teacher assistant. While studying at University I worked during the holidays on the Medway run "Funzone" play scheme as a site supervisor. Over three years I was responsible for five different sites catering for children from a variety of ages and backgrounds.
I've worked as a facilitator at the Mid-Kent College supporting a profoundly deaf student, taught English to foreign exchange students and ran a homework club on a voluntary basis for MHS Homes, charity division.
I live in Chattenden with my wife Loraine and her two daughters, Cheryl and Sarah. I also have two daughters of my own, Chloe and Mollie.
I'm currently tutoring children from the following schools:
Dover Road Primary School, Northfleet;
Cecil Road Primary School, Gravesend;
Shorne Church of England Primary School, Shorne;
St Joseph's Convent Preparatory School, Gravesend;
Northfleet School for Girls;
Shears Green Junior School, Northfleet;
